Breather photos
Does any one have any under bonnet pics of fiesta rst breather systems. Im looking for the to mod mine and are not quite sure where to route the pipe work. Also where does the amal valve piping go when you fit a cone filter Cheers.

the pipe that is going to the air filter is right, yet wrong.
it goes to the air box (when ones fitted) and goes in where it has a sponge filter to collect oil, but this pipe goes in before the filter, so oil vapour is not sucked in to the intake system.
connecting like the picture about, although is sort of right, oil vapour is sucked directly into the intake system and over time oil forms in the system and you have oil residue on the inside of pipes etc etc
when a induction kit is fitted its better to fit a T piece and have a pipe into a sealed bottle (to collect oil, although a bailey breather has a drain pipe) and have a small breather filter on the top part of the T piece, this way it can still breath is its ment to.
the air intake pipe that the filter is connected to should have a nipple on it for the vac pipe to the boost control valve (amal valve)

no probs.
dont get me wrong, it can be put in as the photos above, i wouldnt do it that way though.
i use the std breather on my rs, although ive made it so it can be taken apart and cleaned now, but i run it to a breather filter, i havent put a bottle in to act as a catch tank, but once i start work on the rebuild again i will be.
i wouldnt vent anything to air though, as the system does suck in some air on idle, and the FRST has a valve on the oultlet to air box which stops boost pressure being forced into the intake system when you take ya foot off the gas and you get a rush back, other wose known as chatter
i dunno if this picture will help but its taken from a ford tech book i have on the frst, well, its a service book tbh, and is for the differences between the xr2i and frst
