cosworth vin numbers can the reg be found from these numbers thanks

 

only from whats on the DVLA's computer.

 

As above, Police & HPI (although I don't believe HPI will give you a Reg' from a VIN)

 

I looked into this about 6 years ago and was informed the only people who can give you the reg from the vin no are the police.
So if you buy or have a car missing its reg go to the police with the cars known details like model colour and vin and IF there is no hidden history, i.e. Stolen, Written off. or multiple i.d.s then they should be able to give you the original registration no.
This information was all given to me verbally by a police officer who worked in car crime.
Things could of changed and I have been out of the country for a while now.

 

Doesn't Ford's Microcat have original reg number details against some VIN's?

I know dealers can get one from the other because they did it when I needed parts, but can't recall if they got my VIN from the reg or the other way around.

 

if u know people in the right places u can.

iv got access to the new ford ecat, and it dont tell reg no's from the vin no.

one of the companies i deal with (catalyst manufacturer)can access vehicle reg from vin (dunno how tho!!)
