they can suffer with oil pump failure. usually due to lack of regular oil changes resulting in the pick up blocking. and make sure the cambelt is changed on time as they are known to break. Apart from that a good engine that if looked after properly will go on

Mine has just tipped 120k, 70k of that has been remapped at 230hp. Gets a total beating everytime I drive it.

Oil and filter changed every 5k with fully synth. Plugs are changed every 10k too. Gone through a full set of coilpacks (down to nitrous rather than faults). Turbo died @ 100k, but that was just down to the sheer abuse it gets. MAP sensor has just died, but I think that was due to water ingress with the recent floods rather than anything else.

They can be a little thirsty though. Usually see 32-35mpg on a run, but daily its rarely above 25mpg.

Love the abuse

Book says check cambelt @ 60, change @ 100k. Most are changed @ 60k along with the waterpump. I've not heard of many oil pumps failing, its usually the pickup that clogs up.

150/180/210/225

150/180 both map to around 200hp without anything more than a laptop.

210/225 have a larger turbo that can handle 270-80 out of the box with a remap

Good strong engine and surprisingly cheap to tune..
Might like to change the water pump to a brass impeller version when you do the belt as the standard ones are plastic and can easily break..
