Scrapped my old RS last year and sent off the relevant form. But they just sent me a fine saying my SORN was expired and If I dont pay they double it.
Any one else had any problems with the fookers

With my old RST yhey sent me a letter saying thank you for telling us the car is scrapped and that I had to keep the letter just in case they ask later

Did you tell them at the time it was scrapped ?

they fooking do mate as alot of people pay, oh dont bother to phone em i done that and got told tough, pay the fine, theres nothing ya can do

 

i sent my cheque off with the letter saying do not cash till i go court and i got a reply in 48 hours with my oriinal cheque back

I bought a RS for the Engine and to Dismantle or possibly do up. You may all remember E555CAN - She had about 20 Owners by the time I scrapped.
I delclared SORN and got a nice letter thanking me foe doing so. then when I scrapped her I did the same.
I will write to them asap. If i was guilty I would not mind but I know I sent of a scrap update to them

 

I think they try this SORN fine bollox on with everyone , i had a problem earlier on in the year , i dont think they bother to check and see if people have taken the relevant steps , they just seem to send you a fine out and take it from there

 

This was around the time when all the new laws were coming into place.
Dont think I had a letter for scrapping.

 

i can match that mate i filled a tax return form in and the sorn on it, it dont say its only for 12months, but does on the sorn form!!! moved and cause my rs bein restored thought i changed the address but didnt ne way wasn't expectin a letter so was all good then old house owner forwarded a letter that was the 3rd to b sent and i was due in court in 3 days if i didn't pay over Ł120 i rang them up gave them hell and told them on the form it don't say its only for 12 months but admitted i shud have changed address...... in the end i had to pay Ł40 annoyed but relieved, but the best bit was speakin to them and tellin them there robbin b*stards and there all a bunch of c*nts but obviously he had to be nice

 

they did this with me so i wrote a letter back explaining the car was scrapped and i sent the V5 to them. they wrote back saying thanks no need to pay the fine.

 

Batards did me for under paying tax I taxed two car on the same day (a 1.3 AND 1,8 lx) said I only payed the lower tax on the mondoe

As the one time I didnt get a receipt fook all I could do (even writng a lteer saying when the mondy was and where) wouldnt have it

But if I taxed the mondy and only gave $60.50 how comes the post office taxed it

Gotta do mine for my old S2, got squashed into a meter long flat peice of metal last night, shame I wasn't around to take pics, it got run over by a fook off fork lift Better send the form back saying scrapped now

less what was your fine for underpaying? or supposedly so?

 

Under payment of tax how I dont know as surely if I given the post office Ł60.50 they would not have issued me the tax disc.
