Got my recon turbo back this morning and spent this afternoon fitting it. Come to start the car, and it wont start. Turn the key. ignitions on but it wont start. I have checked all the wiring and its wired as it was before i removed the turbo.

Currently the black blue wire is on to the starter with the battery cable and the blue wire is on the solenoid. On ignition theres 9.2v on the blue but it doesnt change when you go to crank. Should this top up to 12v on cranking. If so where does the wiring run to or does anyone have any other ideas please why it wont go.

 

Check you didnt knock the crank position sensor of which sits just above the starter motor in the block

 

Yep checked that, seems to be ok. Is there any way of checking the input / outs to this.

 

does the engine crank over if not give the stater a wack with a hammer. Wiring sounds ok problery should be a bit higher voltage but should be enough to get it cranking. Whats the voltage at the battery???

 

Well its running, the numpty who had the car before me cut most of the loom up and just twisted them back together. Spent all day soldering and tidying the loom up.

Why do they do it . If in doubt leave it the F*@k alone......
