Quick question for all you blue oval lovers out there.

My girlfriend has an R reg 98 Ka2 and the gearbox has become very notchy over the last few days, to the point where its crunching when engaging 1st,2nd,3rd and reverse. The release bearing is also rattling its pluck out. I was gonna do the clutch over the chrismas holiday but it looks like i'll have to do it at the weekend now instead.

My question is the gearbox sounds like its on its way out, does anyone know if the gearbox off my s2 rst will fit, or i also have an ib one from a 96 1.8 escort si.

Any idea if they will fit or what other bits i'll have to get to make them fit?

no to both the best thing to do is either use one out of another ka or use a puma gearbox as they are the same or fock out on a rebuild

as fair as i am aware ka gearboxes are hydrolic not cable so both boxes wont fit sorry

 

Damn it, i got offered another full car for a 100quid, if i bought it, the gearbox was fine-you could have bought that for a small fee-i wish i had somewhere to put it.
