Default Fiesta 1.3 Fuel Economy

1.3 Endura engine, getting around 180 miles to £30 fuel (works out about 28mpg) whereas in my last one I was getting 40mpg MINIMUM.

Daily run is mainly town with a 6 mile stretch of dual carriagway.

ANy ideas on the problem? Ive had it to a garage and they say its running fine and it isn't running rich or anything...

Bit of a pain when your cheap economical runabout is burning the same amount of fuel as a 2.5 V6 Omega

I've got a 1994 1.3 CFi and get around 35mpg, I thought 28mpg was quite good though (well compared to what my Subaru used to do anyway!)

If it had been the first 1.3 Fiesta id had mate id probably thing it was normal but on £30 my old one used to about 300 miles! Its acctually working out cheaper to drive the Omega at the moment as not only is it on par with economy, its a fuckload better on the daily run with regards to comfort etc

Tyres absolutly fine mate, also thought that it could be the 15" alloys and swapped them for the 13" steels still the same (although my last one still got 300miles/£30 even with the alloys on anyway) no roof rack theres no weight at all bar the spare wheel and me (12st so not that big ) its a 1996 MK4 mate 1.3 Endura EFi engine
