Default Greenlight Insurance

I have had a policy with greenlight since feb this year. 75 a month for a s2 cabby, then i forgot an installment in september, that still is outstanding. now i have just recieved a letter stating that they want £450 or it will be cancelled. Now the car has been off the road for the last month and is staying off road, however if i cancel it they will want the whole lot still. so basically i have to pay £450 by the 7th of December either way, and i cant do it!

i rang them but the bloke was a mardy nob and said they cant help, even when i offered to pay £150 every month till the policy finishes.

i know i should have paid the missing installment sooner. but where do i stand? could i let them go ahead and cancel it so i can have longer to pay?

i noticed when i payed my greenlight insurance last year, in instalments, it was a credit agreement made with a loans company, and not a DD to greenlight themselves, as would be the case with larger insurers.

you will still have to pay the full amount i'm afraid.

i would only take out a greenlight policy if i pay the full amount up front as i did this year, and now i cancelled it i even get some money back....not much though

Hi Ginge,

Sorry to hear that you've left us buddy, you've been one of our long standing customers.

Refund wise, you should get a pro-rata (ie all days left to run are refunded) from your Insurer.

If it's ok with you, i'd be happy to check your Insurer's cancellation calculation and report back to you.

PM me with any of the following: Your policy number, Our client reference, your postcode or reg number & i'll get involved.

Kindest regards

Tony

Hi Andre,

Sorry to hear that youve been having trouble with your instalments, missing a payment never goes doen well with Insurers or finance providers (ours or others within the market).

Providing it's ok with you (ie you authorise me) I can talk to your finance provider on your behalf to assess the situation - then I can look at the options & PM you.

I can't stress enough, if you're with Greenlight - i've been a member her for about 5 years now and i'm here to help (well at least to try and help) wherever I can.

Some situations are beyond saving, but I'll always do my best and will always respond.

If you can PM me your name/postcode/registration, policy number or client number i'll get straight on the case.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi Paul,

Replied by PM..

Your change occurred in October and we had been experiencing problems receiving documents courtesy of the postal strike.

With this in mind - we have linked to your Insurers system and generated further documents which have been posted today.

Hopefully, with your living literally upon our doorstep you should receive these tomorrow.

Kind regards

Tony
