Default New York Hotel suggestions

Might be spending a few days there, so after good cheap-ish hotels. Ideally want something close to where we'll be on the night times drinking ourselves stupid.

I know it's been talked about before but that fooking search is rubbish.

Cheers

Best xmas and new year i have ever experienced...

As for a budget boozy break/shop in my younger years/college years I stayed at the NYC YMCA - basic but by know means grotty -
I would say like a 3 star over here, has a ppol ang gym etc.

best book now as i booked mine for the start of dec about 1 month ago and had trouble finding one that was a reasonable price ($170 per night).

hotel 17 is where i'm staying and have heard good things from mates who have stayed there previous but it all depends on where abouts in the city you want to stay as its HUGE!!!

www.tripadvisor.com has some good reviews, but get in there quick as theres loads of brits hitting it this xmas with cheap flights and worthless dollar!!!

DO NOT STAY AT THE PENSYLVANIA HOTEL

It was nice down stairs in the lobby but when we got to the coridor with our room at the end ,it looked like something out of "starsky and hutch"
There was blood over the walls and the room absolutely stank.
I went down and complained, we were then put in a "re-furbished" room which at least was use-able.

New Years 2008? 60 days from now?

sold out mate....unless you're prepared to spend thousands (even with the pound being double what the dollar is currently), for one night. good luck, you might want to try looking in New Jersey and taking the train in for the sights. but in all honesty, most hotels will be sold out already. all the properties listed already, like the W, will have 5-7 rooms left at 950.00-1500.00 per night.

I am from NY, and if you are planning to come for New years, most are booked. No way would you get something now in Times Square unless it's a nightmare hotel. Best is to either stay downtown, or outside of NY near a subway.

Best of luck
Hey mama! You ok?
