Some of the very early saffs had the same clocks but no gauge in the rev counter, so they never did fit it for some reason. I have one of these here if you need a pic.

Hi Saint - yeah I had to get one to help sort my speedo and they even had same part numbers on gauges etc - except the rev counter of course. Gary from rs breakers in Portmouth got me it and saved my bacon on originality for my 500. My G Plate saff has slight differences though.

Trying to find some pics mate I took bloomin 100s on my rebuild!!

Here ya go - found the flippin pic - not my finest and one still has the glass on (the one from the 500). The x1000 writing moves into the space vacated by the boost gauge as you can see. No pics from the back but they were identical connectors etc. and a straight swop. As I say this was from an E plater and my G is different as Saint suggests

andy thats rude mate

i have never seen them before and 100% not all e platers will have those gauges....... i have an E plater outside and my F plate crystal blue cossie is only on an F cos the first owner bought it on the 1st of august just to have the new plate letter

when you say the backs are the same are you saying that rs500 one and that funny sapph one is the same co if you are then that wont fit other sapphs like my own as the back conectors are different 100%

if that fitted you sapph then it must have had an early wiring loom same as a 3dr.

Where are the 3dr Cosworth and Escort Cosworth std boost gauge hose connected to in the inlet manifold? Does the same place exist in Sapphire Cosworths also?

I haven't got a picture of my inlet manifold but I'll use this:

I have hoses on all of those five spots. If I recall correctly, upper one is for the dump valve. However, the lowest one has an Y-piece, which has the other exit plugged off, and the other one goes to the fuel pressure regulator if I remember right? Is this wrong, as I remember there should be no T-piece on FPR hose? Is this standard wiring or some stuff that previous owner had done? Where should I put the boost pressure gauge hose then?

It's because it would not fit in with the executive image (the same reason why the bonnet louver's are not present)

It's interesting re the speedo.

You can use any source, barring the FPR and MAP.
