Default My condition

Hi all

As you know, I have been suffering from a serious condition for several years now. This is a blight that can affect us all, and has affected several of us on this forum.

'Ford Sierra Cosworth' ownership is a difficult condition to come to terms with, and indeed it has taken me several years to really accept the condition as part of my life.

Having visited several 'Self Help' groups, I have still yet to shake the crippling condition that is "Cossie Ownership".

Cosworth ownership affects every part of your life, and can have a serious effect on your relationships with other normal people. I have suffered from Cosworth ownership now for exactly 12 years today.

The good news is that there is a cure. Following some signficant research in Germany by a select number of scientists, there is hope for all cosworth owners. It is called "Porsche therapy".

Whilst still very very experimental, I understand that by undertaking Porsche therapy you can be completely cured of "Ford Sierra Cosworth Ownership".

But I need your help. As with all experimental treatments, the costs in the early years is high. In order to participate in this study, I will need to raise £40,000 which is where you guys come in.

With your help, I may be able to kick Ford Sierra Cosworth ownership forever.

Help James walk away from cosworth ownership forever, and pledge whatever you can.

Thanks for listening

James

it's a difficult subject to approach and the first step to recovery is actually admitting the problem is there, so well done

suffering from a similar condition myself "Ford Escort Cosworth Ownership" I fully understand what you are going through

I'm sorry to say, that it has recently been discovered that even with Porsche owner-ship, that your illness is completely incurable . In a recent test where another victim of this terrible disease who owned a 996 Turbo, traded it in for an even more expensive version (a 997 GT3 RS), it became apparant that he still could not control his urges to throw money at a shonky orange Ford Cosworth of the Escort variety.

Accordingly, if this level of treatment has failed to provide a cure, then obviously a mere £40k version will be like taking aspirin for a brain tumour . However, if you direct all funds to me, I will continue to research this illness to the best of my ability, as I feel close to a breakthrough, but need £40k for that sequential box, 9" rear diff and 8½ front, just to be sure .

ROFOL to all replies!!!

Mike - I will consider your offer once I achieve my target. I wonder if your friend didnt fully follow the rules of treatment when diagnosed?

Andy - I think that our condition is not covered by the NHS is a real issue. Seriously, there are a number of mental illnesses such as this that just go unnoticed under the present system.

I will be championing a white paper on this subject at the next round of elections in the hope that this ridiculous imbalance does not continue.

BIG BIG Thanks must go to the contributors to the cause so far.....

Silverfox999

I wont embarass him by saying how much he donated, but needless to say, it was an amount of cash between 0 and 40k.

Well, after spending thousends on medication, I STILL have a bad infection of this , I have sierra cosworthitis and the more deadly strand of escort cosworth infection. I even went to see a specialist in Blackpool about the Escort infection, but far from helping he has just suggested new pioneering EEC IV treatment, that is not NHS but privatly funded, and included the dreaded 4x4 gearbox upgrade and a T38 turbo....

Unfortunatly these have proved to be highly addictive, and will require a further dose of surgery in Blackpool to see if it really will work ...

Some people fight thier condition and turn to japaneese herbal remedys such as the Impreza tonic or the Evo drops, but often they turn out to be nothing more than a placebo effect drug, and owners while in denial, claim they are the cure, often find themselfs a few months later ashamedly in a damp cold garage spannering the underside of thier ford, much to the disgust of thier family who thought thier addiction had been cured

Yes..... I too am a sufferer of (CO desiese) I have had a problem for nearly five years' But alas i feel "Porsche therapy" is not for me as i am immune to this perticula drug' It just seems that (CO) is too deep in my veins. I feel so dirty and ashamed but now i can finally stand up and shout out " MY NAME IS DOUG AND I HAVE A PROBLEM "

Wow i feel so much better for that now 'but man im itching for a bit of a power slide and a hard launch on the quarter

I think i may have found a form of Cossieret Patch, helps ween you off slowly.

It comes in the form of a track ready XR2 of all things. The more i drive this the less i could give a shit about my Cosworth.

Until you see a well driven Saff going sideways around every corner in front of you, and then you find all of a sudden that the urges you THOUGHT had disappeared come back with a renewed vengence .

im suffering with fettling with ur cossieitus its a particular vile disease as it dosnt seem to matter how long it stays off the road wasting insurance/tax/mot as long as i can keep bolt gadgets to it to the point it needs a alternator off a ford cargo truck to run it my family has tried alsorts of treatment like the kids wanted birthday and xmass presents instead of me buying more stuff for the car ! i mean whats all that about ? misses has tried "the what pain is worse apraoch " by hitting me with a drive shaft if i dont leave the car alone but thats become like a bondage thing because the only drive shaft that was available was a cossie one they have even forced me to go on family day's out never understood them just perfectly good money going to waste when could buy more parts

then the misses says to me why couldnt i just leave it alone and just use it "WHAT" thats like getting a full breakfast with no sauce to put on it or a single mault whiskey with no stella to chase it .

No sorry jj you might think a beetle on steriods will stop you bujt cossie ownership is like herpies this shit stays for life

there seem to be alot of people with similar conditions... i thought i was the only one suffering with one!

many people seem to have found a cure in 'M3' Injections, and some have even been perscribed the far more powerful 'M5' drug but i don't feel that this treatment would help me at all i'd prefer to try some evo drops if anything, but i don't feel that the disease is affecting me to the point that i need treatment yet

Well done Rab - good to see that someone has managed to break the cycle!

I must admit this problem is far more serious than I had first thought!

It makes my experimental treatment all the more important!!!!
