Default arc eye

did alot of welding on sunday (useed the mask, honest )

but there was alot of taking and i suppose i flashed my eyes a few times

any way, sunday night, feels like there some thing inym eye, by monday, agony and sight fucked. still bad yesterday, no paint today just sensitive to bright light.

my question is, to those fo you misfortuanaat enought to have had it,

has your vision come back fully, im hoping mine will, as i didnt have any jip or loss of sight until about 8 hours after i finished welding, surely if i fucked my eye, then it would have been bad straight away ????

cheers, hope some one can give me an opinion, as i need my sight formy job

You'll be fine. It usually takes around 8 - 12 hours for the flash to develop. And your eyes will be kinda sensitive for a few days

No a SHIELD is best for arc eye, sorry preventing it.
Arc eye, is a form of PHOTOKERRATIS, most people are not aware it can cause PERMANENT DAMAGE, from continued exposure, as the cells around the cornea stop rebuilding after shedding, it is this shedding which then allows the sensitive part of the eye to contact the occualr cavity(eye socket) which causes the pain, the cells regrow.
It has been know to cause total and permanent blindness in extreme cases, but can certainly cause eye problems with little exposure.
The arc of light will go through shut eyes/skin, and any reflection can cause it as well, it is the same condition as SNOW BLINDNESS, also caused by sunbeds!!

2 hands?

Ł4.50 gets you one on a head band.

Ł45 gets you a fully automatic one...

or to put it another way 10 packs of fags

Its not good, I've had it twice and I make sure I'm very careful now.

I wouldn't be very useful at my job or my hobbies if I was blind

Ł45 is a bargain, think my work one is a SpeedGlass one iirc
