Buy octobers edition of "retro Cars" - there a big 205 GTI feature in there.

I used to have one - just watch out the the joints (gaps) - top and bottom of the B post.

 

Everyone I have seen has cracks along the top of the B pillar, some worse than others! I wasn't too fussed buying my new one as its going to get a decent cage in...!

 

Phil why dont you just but my 309 gti goodwood instead Same power, better handeling, with leathers etc

my mate at work just bought a 1.6 205 gti for £500, only done 87k

Miss my 205! Much more fun than the cossie too!

Look for valve stem seals (smoke at idle after a blast), Trailing arm bearings on rear suspension (uneven tyre wear,groaning etc).
Dont be put off if the drivers seat is all fooked - they're all like that!
