what headgasket for 350-400bhp?

Default what headgasket for 350-400bhp?

i need to get the head off my new engine now, and when i put it back together i want to aim for 350-400bhp and 350 lb/ft torque
will a grp a headgasket be up to the job?
or do i need something else?

and is ebay the cheapest place to get one? £60 for a grp a

also do i need new headbolts?

GRP A gasket will be fine and Yes a new set of bolts for the pitance they cost is always advisory

Woodford, Amber, CM Tuning etc can all supply these.

late escos one if you can get it, if not then a group a one.

and yes you need new headbolts unless you are converted to stud and nut.

If you are on Stud and Nut, dont forget to measure the studs to ensure that they are still within their design tolerance

To do that properly, you need to have measursed them very accurately on the way in too.
Sort of true if you are measuring total deflection, but I believe that the ARP website (if they are ARP) will give you a max length for the studs IIRC, which negates the need to know their start length. I may of course be wrong!

You are only talking about a few thou of movement, so i would be wanting to indivually measure them first.

Ive never actually seen an ARP head stud not come back within tolerance then (a mate of mine measures such things) and therefore dont bother.

Rod bolts its worth doing though if you have them apart a few times.
