Yes, the exhaust is bent downwards if I recall correctly.
If that was what you are thinking about.

When Ford run the World car they would have had side exits....as they were sold off, the private teams would have put after market mid steel ones on.

Im just loading two pics now to show matey.

I think they had different exhausts depending on noise restrictions? I know the RS 2000 rally car has a few options depending on the stage.

-Normal bumper exit, silenced
-Normal bumper exit, unsilenced
-Side exit, unsilenced

Maybe its the same for the Cossie rally car?

The majority of the homologated cars ran twin side exits, with cats....no silencers....very difficult to get through noise test and vunerable in the sticks.....

The rear exit version was still an option and as you can see on Mark Jaspers later (R6 FMC) car they ran a rear exit version on the works cars...mainly gravel cars...

These were titanium.....they ran down the offside of the car with the cross over at the back as per the pic of mine below....

no that is quite clearly titanium, again you can tel this by the colour and the width and shape of the weld bead,

if you look at the top picture of the exhaust you posted the bracket that attatches to the bumper area, looks like it has been MIG welded, how many people do you know that can MIG weld titanium?

I am not trying to be a smart arse, but without seeing it in the flesh i would say that it is not titanium

Pal...I aint being funny, but that's my exhaust...I bought it and I can assure you it's titty...if you want to come for a look i'd be more than happy to show you round the car.....the weld you refer to is very difficult to differentiate, that I would agree....but that is actually a gusset, tig welded both sides to support the bar which goes into the rubber support off the car.....yes as you rightly point out, you cant mig weld titanium, it has be welded in a bubble or purge I believe its called.....when its cleaned off properly the welding on all the compenents of the car is work of art.....but please dont jump to rash conclusions....
