the car has only done 200 miles all i 1 night since a full bare shell rebuld the next morning a got about 2 miles turned to the first left at a round about lucky if i was doing 10 mph and the drivers side drive shaft snaped at the wheel side at the cv gator the shafts where all reconditoned before fitting

anyone any idea why this would happen iam fitting the new shaft tomorrow just worred that the diff or transfer box has cos'd it to snap

 

any chance joint has dryed out ....eg little split, lose all grease .cv runs dry gets hot then breaks only thing i can think of if you say shafts are reconned .
did you check that they actually had grease in them????
might be worth checking the other shafts to get an idea how much grease is in them just to be safe

 

there was plenty of greese in it and hte cv joint was fine it was the shaft that broke just next to the cv tho

 

looks like ive got a problem to fix.
fitted the new drive shaft this morning took it out for a spin got 200 yards and the near side drive shaft snaped i was in 2nd doing 30mph in a straight line and slowing down for a round about then bang it snaped as i said i think i have a problem some where

anyone any ideas it would be a big help
