Guys,
I've gotta do a timing belt change on a 1.7 puma this weekend. Actually i started it last weekend but put the thing back together as i couldnt see any timing marks?
I've been told i need a locking pin thing that goes in the crank, i know this is only my first post so people will be a bit apprehensive to help me (even more so because i'm a jap car fan
) but i wanted to ask you guys
a) Does anyone have the engine workshop manual? i cant find one, and i want to know where this hole is that i have to insert the locking pin through to time the engine up
b) does anyone have one of these locking pin kits that i can either borrow (in exchange for some beer tokens of course) or could you measure it up so i could make my own?
Or if anyone can describe where the hole is i need to put the locking pin in then sweet, go ahead.
Thanks very much guys
Carl

Carl,
Unfortunately there is no workshop manual for the 1.7 engine.
The closest thing you might get is one of those dodgy on cd manuals from ebay, but they're not 100% legal.
As far as the locking tool - even some ford garages don't have them! maybe ask at your local garage - some places have them if they do lots of fords.
Good luck
Darren
