is my capri 2.0 standard ride height?
i know the rear is slightly lower, but is the front too, any estimates on how low the front and back is to standard??

need any better pics ill nip out and take some

im wanting to get it to handle better, so if mine is std height i think i'd be alright with a 1" drop without looking too out of place.
getting stiffer (190lb springs i THINK).
i know the rear end is dropped a bit already.
whats a good balance for front engined rwd, should the front still be slightly lower than the back as a general rule?

A 2" drop on 190lb springs isn't that extreme, and would sort out your handling more I'd say... or play it safe with a 1" drop.
Stiffer at the front softer at the rear is the rule of thumb I know for RWD cars.
I've got coilovers wound down on 225Ib springs and I still think mine is a bit too roly

the bodyroll isnt too bad at all, not even on STD springs, you gotta expect some roll anyways.
whats better on the rear then?? single or multi-leaf springs. im a bit of a noooob here, but single leaf springs (quite new ones too) fitted so far, at i THINK a 1" drop

poor thing ^ ^ ^ lol
ive got some bilstein (i think) shocks for the back, nice and yellow so the dorris mod shall be done to those hehe.
any idea where i can get ajustable shocks from.... its kinda hard nowadays lol!
not too much roll there... honest, methinks im going for the 2" drop... puts the front mud guards about an inch of the floor, maybe less.
see if i can find anything to get the back lower, some nice blocks hehe.

Use single leaf rear springs way better than multi leaf.
Capris can be made to handle grip VERY well, do NOT lower anymore than it is, billy's work well on these as do poly bushes and anti dive kit.
If you want to go thw hole hog get a triangualtion kit for the rear, or at least a panhard rod link.

Motorsport World sell them I'm sure
A 2" drop on a Capri won't mess with any geometry, but blocks are crude, I'm fitting decambered single leafs soon, and some kind of rear axle location too is good to have.

my uncle is making me a panhard rod link for the rear, but still, its very sloppy on the standard springs at the front, dive is horrendous (sp?) and it seems nearly all the weight goes on a single front tyre with the std springs, and if i remember from my old 5 (also with mcpearson struts on the front) just shock absorbers didnt help much until reasonable springs were put on.
what would stop the load being pushed onto the front right hand wheel (say turning left) if all i changed was dampers and anti dive (if they are still available)
btw 2.0 lazer springs in use, std std std
I once read a lengthy (and boring) article proving how anti dive kits were quite crude, messed up the geometry and were far less effective than just fitting decent shocks and springs....
I wouldn't bother hunting one down..... just sounds like a mod from the bad ole days to me

lol, i liked the idea of what they do, means i can crank up the rear brakes a little more on braking without going near locking up.
springs on the front will help with anti dive, help with roll, help with height of the car and front-back balance of what the car currently has. just need new shocks on the front still

ive had a brooklands tt 200 bhp and loads of other capris ,fit some good gas and springs on the front single 2.8 rear leaf springs with adjustable dampers only drop the whole thing 1 inch /then fit a bolt on x frame on the rear axle cost about 30 quid stiffens it up no end

i'm running a 2.0 but uprated 2.8i shocks and springs all round, the car handles fantastically and i couldn't fault it other than the axle movement, five linked back end coming soon though but the capri actually handles brilliantly if set up well, mine used to have a 3" drop on standard but it was a pig to drive, didn't mess with geometry just far too low to be practical, it's only down an inch on standard now and it's perfect
If you lower you do not need the anti-dive kit. The anti-dive kits were desinged for rally cars who had to have good suspension clearnace for forrests etc. For a road car just lower it.
My old 2.8 handled like a dream with 1" lower (makes it -2" over a Laser)fronts , 145lbs springs and polly bushed TCAs and ARB. Standard rear single leafs. No dive, no roll and 100% fun.
