i've been looking at getting a new bike over the last couple of days and am looking at honda firestorms which got me thinking of him as he used to have one.

Firestorm is a good bike but not that fast and the suspension is rubbish.

I dynojetted mine with a filter and full Akra system which was not cheap.

Ohlins rear shock, rearsets, wavy discs etc etc and I was just about to swap the forks for a set of Blade forks when I thought 'Why am I bothering' and chopped it in for an R1

In short, good bike but flawed.
If you want a sportsbike and are only spending 2-3k then go for a Blade or early R1 imo

If you must have a v-twin then it's not a bad bike bar the points I mentioned, cheap to insure for a litre bike too.

i know all about the short comings of the 'storm having had one for 6 months previous but i liked it and want one again

I've always fancied a hardtail and this is gonna be a winter project

 

i HATE harleys and the like but would quite like a nice custom chopper. if thats gonna be tarted up the cool but i wouldnt be seen dead on it like it sits

 

i have to agree with chop - with an inline engine it just looks wrong.

but i obviously don't get choppers. you like it, that's all that matters

 

Don't get me wrong, it's not my dream bike

I've not got a garage at the moment so I wanted something cheap that can leave in the street without worrying about it

I'd love a harley engined chop but they don't come for Ł900

I've always had nothing but sportsbikes and I just fancied a change for a while
