I did it after returning to employment from been self employed, asked a few questions on here at the time IRC. Was easy enough but I wouldnt like to take it on if I was self employed though and had shit loads to try and swindle.

ive been self employed for 3 years and had my own business for 18 months, and i leave that side of things to my accountant.

im too scared of filling the forms in wrong and being stung for it or being investigated with a fine tooth comb.

had to regeister then they sent me a pin number through, takes 10 days I think. As above I only did it cos I was back in employment on PAYE so easy to calculate and fill in, wouldnt dream of doing it if I was trying to fiddle the books, leave that to the pros. They charge about 120 to fill it in and last time I got 600 back so no worries there.

The online version is easy to do.

I have done it for a few years now.

Just before you submit the information, it tells you how much you will get back or how much you owe.

If they owe you, the cheque only takes a few days.

I always struggled with the paper version, but online is easy, go for it.
