Audi sport quattro. The S1 is the evolution model.

I thought it was just known as the UR Quattro.

The SWB models were never a production car iirc

The Audi "UR" Quattro is based on the Audi coupe and was built to go rallying with 4wd. And is a early Gr B. (or was it even Gr. 4?) model if i remember correctly? The "UR" quattro was thought to be to big and Audi came up with the homologation model Audi sport quattro (214 made, 20 S1 "EVO" models)
The Audi sport quattro could be bought as a street car just as the RS200, Peugeot 205 T16 amongst others.. bot it was VERY expensive. It had 306 hp,
and a leather interior.

The normal Audi quattro had a 2 valve engine, the sport quattro had a 4 valve cylinder head and slightly smaller engine size, 2,2l vs 2,1 or something like that.

Thats the one..
nr 13 was owned by Leif Nilsen here in norway (the dude responsible for the Gatebil shows) and he sold it due the huge cost of parts and problems with getting them.. the car stood in his garage for over 1 year waiting for parts..

..but it is hugely entertaining to watch.. and to hear a straight 5 proper GrB Rally Audi... it is a great sound from that engine..

There is one guy here in Norway that has made his own "S1" Pikes Peak replica using an Audi cooupe quattro and a 2 door Audi 80 to get the right windscreenangle and frontdoors.. it´s in norwegian but there are alot of pictures to look at for inspiration..

cheers..

http://www.gatebil.no/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4046

I think the Dialynx version looks kinda odd when they keep the original "UR" angle on the windscreen, it´s in my book one of the fatures that makes an sport quattro...

The Dialynx conversions are nice, but unless you spend mega money and get the screen angle changed it just doesnt look right!

A slightly different (and cheaper) angle that looks better than you would imagine, is to keep it LWB, and add the Sport bodykit:

Would love to have one myself, a friend of one used to have a ur quattro and the sound just makes you smile. The digital dash and the german lady that speaks to you is way cool.

English voice on this one but the german ist ze coolest

WRONG: the second picture isn't the S1 although the first picture is indeed the Audi Sport.

S1 was the evolution version of the Grp.B rallycar, the one with the huge snowplough in front and spoiler on the rear.

I've had a dialynx replica from the Grp.B car with a 10 valve rallycross engine... 245's all around and it would light up through corners in 3rd

Absolute whiteknuckle ride, extremely narrow powerband, would virtually always be too late with shifting up and an absolute animal wich blew up big style late one night after a particulary spirited ride....turns out the wastegate control worked loose and it was running unrestircted boost...
