it will if its genuine.

the claim all depends on how long the pain lasts Alex.

the compo ranges from 6 months ,12,18 etc.....

so when you get checked over etc...the doctor will give his opinion of how long it will last...

then it goes from there.

the longer it lasts, the more money.

I had a straightforward whiplash claim about 8yrs ago, was better within a week and basically took their first offer, got Ł2350 as didnt lose any sleep or wages over it

Im sure if you go to docs etc a bit, once they get a medical report it will show how many times youve been and how much its affecting you

takes a while to get your money though

You will have hopefully been to the hospital within 24-48hrs?

Standard payout is about 1k - 1.5k but if bad, then can be lots more.

Remember that a bad injury can be with you for ever, damp cold weather can cause stiffness etc, can take 3 years to get sorted for a bad case.

and remember, you don't have to accept the first offer unless it is very good

but did hear somewhere that they actually don't have to better it on the second or third offer, not sure how that works

Now if they feel the crash wasn't hard enough to claim whiplash you can be taken to court and rejected. I am going to court soon because I stalled and altough I had my handbrake on I tapped the car infront. And he is claiming longterm back neck and shoulder injuries. I have to go to court to tell them my side of the story and they will decide wether he's bullshitting I suppose. He clearly is and my insurance have to prove it.

P.S Not that I'm saying yours is mate.

alex, i gothit off my bike 3 weeks ago friday, some stupd bitch turned right at a no right turn junction in her vw passat estate, i ended up t-boning her at 30mph and face planted into the side of the car.

on day 2 after it my neck felt great, i could move it more than usual and it was free etc

now i cant tilt my head to the left, andi ihave big pains in my neck, also my left hip is fucked and really hurts now, dont know why tho but it is

i went to hospital that night and had x-rays of my back, then went to the docs 1 week after as i had started getting bad abdominal pains

my advice would be to go to the docs asap, tell then you been in a crash and they will see you same day - at least its on record then

my neck and hip are still bad, and the soliciters are arranging a further examination.

also the cops are doing her with dangerous driving, so my case should be a good a one lol

in a previous crash 7 years ago i got Ł1400 for whiplash, and i think going headfirst intot he sode of a car at near 30mph has fucked my neck worse than ever

im now nervous as a passenger in a car, and i wont get another bike... this will be taken into consideration

all the best mate

ps i see you were in the rover, what the fuck was the cunt in the z4 doing???

My farthing law was hit from behind whilst stationary and his neck and back took the impact, it was me that was pushing him to the doctors, he was saying i'm alright but the doctor discovered serious whiplash and damage to the lower part of the spine, this happened the back end of april since then he's had to go back several times for stronger tablets as he drives for a living so after getting up from great lenghts of time he's stiff and the same in the garden, they said they will review it upto 5 years as back injuries gradually get worse as time goe's on.

Get to the doctors you will have more damage than you think.

I have been rear ended 4 times in 9 years now.
The pain can last your WHOLE LIFE, or it can clear quickly, most take around 2 years to FULLY heal.
On the last claim I had, it necessitated myself taking the MIB to court, yes another non insured person, which I won for myself and other half, damages plus compo plus cost etc.
Case was ever so simple but fucked up by cops and solicitors so I sacked the solicitor, and went DIY, not hard either, one of my siter inlaws is a PI solicitor just for motoring claims.
NEVER EVER accept first offer, keep a record of ALL expenses incurred.
There is a book of injuries called KEMPS which lists the amounts for each individual injury, all the common ones.
It is so easy to get a solicitor on no win no fee use them, but when you are sent to see a doctor, that YOU agree with your solicitor and put forward for the other parties approval(as you have to) go and see a A+E consultant, GP's are crap at this as they don't see enough.
Fortunately I have a whirrly bird doctor now(air amb) so is mega qualified/experienced A+E specialist.
I had two appointed(AA) solicitors on one case who really were a joke, if you disagree with them say so, remember you are the one who is putting money into their pockets when you win as without you they would not have the work.
One of my claims the lady would not give her insurance details the police were useless, so the solicitor got the arse when I INSTRUCTED him to sue her personally, but the same day she got the letter of court action we got her details!!
Good luck with your claim, and with choice of solicitor.

I have personally know them take up to 12 years for a difficult case.
Any half decent PHYSIO will tell you not to claim for two years as it will often get worse up to this point.
Physio report is nice but pointless as it carries so little weight, it shouldn't but it does in the real world.
Best report by a hell of a long way is A+E consultant, more to do with perception than anything else, but that is my experience.

i know i will get slated for this "your driving our premiums up" etc

but, we'd all do it if we had the chance and KNEW you could get the ŁŁ. who in their right mind would turn down a couple of grand for relatively little effort?

me and saj (my business partner) were driving through a narrow road in an industrial estate in manchester going to buy stock for our shop. when crawling through this narrow street some dick in a parked car opened his door and whacked off saj's pug 406 executive TD wing mirror. these wing mirrors cost Ł400 each from puegeot, as they are heated, electric automatic folding jobbies etc...

so anyway, couple of days later i go to see the doctor, complain ive got a sore wrist from when he braked harshly (not from wanking etc etc) from putting my hand out on the dash, and a sore right shoulder from the seatbelt. i DIDNT go in holding my neck as it's a bit too obvious and doctors will instantly see the pound signs in your eyes.

since then ive been back a few times, they referred me to a specialist, ive been having physio including being put on this 'rack' thing and lots of stretches etc and exercises that ive been told to do 5 times a day. the ironic thing is theyve found stuff wrong with me that never knew existed lmao including posture problems and inflamation of muscle (probably from the 140 kilo bench pressing! lmao)

this physio has been going on for 4-5 months...i will carry it on for another few months yet complaining of pain under my shoulder blade and also i might aswell get the posture/inflamation problems sorted aswell.

another thing that was 'ironic' was the fact that my phsio goes to the same gym as me the only thing that saved my arse in this case was the fact i hadnt seen her there in ages, and i asked her where she'd been and she was apparently studying doing an open university course which stopped her from going to the gym and took up all her spare time.

know it helps that sajs brother (one of 8 LMAO) does claims.

when i eventually put in a claim i'll have genuine medical reports for months and months worth of intensive physio so should be in for a decent pay out.

Thats bang out of order you money grabbing cunt. I can understand a claim if you've been rear ended but claiming injuries from a knocked off wing mirror is kicking the arse out of it.
