Default GT30 fitment

Hi,

I'm almost done with the rebuild, and i'm busy to fit a GT30R on the engine.
i'm using a 2wd manifold, and the compressor housing hits the manifold.... Who can deliver an adapterplate between the swan neck, because that the only solution ??

How did you guys make it fit on a 2wd manifold?

Regards,

Bas

Can you rotate it to gain clearance?

Allready did , because i have to "clock" the turbo anyway, and i did rotate the compressor housing.
But it still hits the manifold.

Yeah it sounds like a spacer is your only option then.

Weird thing is im sure ive seen loads of people just bolt them straight on, gt35's too

Not ever had one on my Yb though, so im sure you will get a better answer from someone who has

Are you sure

I already removed the part from the head, which is ment for the turbo damper....and i did rotate the compressor housing in every possbile way.....but always hitting the manifold.

So if it really can bolt straight on, there must be someone ho can tell me how....but i don't see how it can be bolt straight on

Martin,

Mail send.
But i do not need the swan neck, only the adapterplate.
So the GT30 will not fit without this?

Thanks!

Bas

Is your turbo an external wastegate version? What are you doing about wastegate fitment if so? The spacer is needed on external gated GT30 / GT35's

I've got GT35 externally gated on mine wit the Reyland spacer & Swan Neck exhaust. Fits like a glove !

Even wit the spacer, the compressor is seriously close to the head but dont touch !

You might be able to jus see the adaptor here & how close !

Hope this helps !

@ Martin,

Yes, it's an external wastegate GT30R version, 0.82 A/R Turbine

I'm going to use a Tial Sport wastegate which i allready have.

How much for only the the adapterplate ?

@ JB fletch

Nice picture And that's very close indeed.

Bas

The plate on it's own would be £75 plus vat and delivery.. Where will you mount the wastegate??

I'm not 100 % sure where i'm going to mount the wastegate, because i first have to fit the engine in, to take a good look. You have any advice?

But i allready had the idea to weld a pipe on the std manifold on the swan neck, so i have all the items but first i have to make the turbo fit

Bas
