Default Escort cossie alloys???

Hello all!!! I have just bought a set of escort cossie alloys to put on my mk4 cab will i need longer bolts or will the standard ones fit fine??? Also i have 225 45 16" tyres on them at the mo but i have seen other escorts and fiestas on cossie rims with what looks like skinnier tyres stretched to fit over the alloys, can anyone tell me what size tyre it might be or am i talking shit???

Thanks!!!

225/45's are too big and fat tbh.... better off with either 205/45 or 215/40, I have seen 194/45 and 195/40 stretched but not ideal

I'd stick them on E bay and source some Mondeo alloys instead. The offset of ET25 and 8J rim width make them wholey unsuitable for a Mk4 Escort

as above really they will stick out a bit aswell, but if you still want them on i would have said 205/40/16s.

Cheers for the replys guys. I know they stick out and the offset is wrong but i think they look really good on mk4 escort. Im not as keen on the mondeo alloys. Ideally i want some 17" Rs softspokes but they are too expensive for me at the mo so cossie rims will have to do for now. What about the bolts though???

standerd bolts are long enough but they slip straight through the cossie holes... get your ass to fords and order 16 escort cossie wheel studs and bolts...

drill out your hubs through original holes to the size of the studs and bash them in .... hey presto you now have studs and bolts that fit..

and ive just fitted 195's to mine think they look rude bit wont be doin any agressive corners lol

no the rear disc conversion won't make any difference to the stud conversion as i have both on mine, the only problem it will give you is that the rear wheels will be pushed a further 8/9 mm due to the extra disc metal in the way

What Bilsteins you on mate? The MEF ones or do Bilstein actually make them for the S1/S2?

Looks cool BTW

PROJECT RS How easy is a stud conversion to do??? G420 DEL made it sound quite easy, if i bash the studs in wont they work loose after a while??? Did you do your own conversion???

Cheers

stud conversion was a doddle and they shouldn't work loose as when the wheels on and tightened up that pulls studs even more as it's basically a nut and bolt set up and eventually they'll rust in place, go scrappy's and knock some old ones out of a focus or escort mk5,6,7 and give it a go
