Surely.....
15+15 = 30
30+16 = 46
NOT 56....
The specs cant be the same....
.... or your car has a fault
.... or it could just be your use of constant acceleration blips that drink fuel.
.... or the fact you dont have closed loop ?????
.....or your 20 stone heavier than the other driver
(this is a joke BTW)
Could be any or all of the above !

Thats 33.333333 to the gallon....
That dont seem right on a 400bhp motor.... Best I ever got on my 500 was 260 to a tank and that was Stage III
In fact I've never owned a cosworth, standard or modded that would return 400 miles to a tank

so he's done twice the fuel the other guys done, on basicly the same spec engines and, other than one guy going with a full tank there and back and him topping up there was no other difference

Now this is strange
I have 2 500"s ,, the black one is pushing 340 /350 on 4 greens
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The white one is pushing 430 /440 on greys
I took them both to brunters for the photo shoot and used 3 quaters of a tank in the white one and over a tank in the black one
How does that work then ,, the bigger HP car on bigger injectors uses less fuel and we sat together on the motorway

They both have the same ECU , neither on close loop etc

it might be the motorway thing
i reckon that the lower pwoered cars will do less motorway miles as they are going to be more "driveable" whereas the bigger powered cars will be set up for big power top end and so they'll sacrifice a bit of fuelin bottom end
i think there might also be a fueling issue if you have all 8 injectors opening up when you plant it as opposed to just 4 for normal driving
or i might be talking bollocks

who knows paul maybe i should just put 8 x 1000cc ones might get the 400 mile tank
mind you stage 3 A1RS chip saff did 300 miles to a tank as it was before that on blue standard did 220

I did Combe & back on one FULL tank & thats with my Closed Loop not working....think you've got a slight problem there mate
My MR2 liverpool - glasgow 158bhp uses just over half a tank of fuel at 80ish mph on the motorway...
Pug 206 1.4 Hire car liverpool - glasgow 85bhp uses a full tank at 80ish mph on the motorway.......
I honestly thought the 1.4 would be better on fuel....
To make it worse it's a really shit car, and had the most UNCOMFORTABLE seats in history.... I was ready to burn it after 2 trips up the motorway, and was soooooo glad to get back in the toyota

If you are going to look at mpg, you have to do it properly!

drive a bit
fill to the brim
how much feul you put in divided y the iles you've done = economy (or lack of in some cases)
only works when you fill to the brim mind, as everything else is variable depending on teh fuel gauge/temprature/etc
diseasals are worse because they froth up more the faster you put the fuel in as well as how hot it is outside, you can get more in the tank on a cold day than you can on a hot day

you sound like my mate dervman
ok, he was anal about his consuption but he did get some exactly exact resluts from his findings, even going so far as running with air con on/off and different temps in and outside the engine bay, ambient temps, inclination of the roads, etc etc

Doing it over as far as possible just gives a more realistic figure as to what you will get long term, as long as the driving is similar to what you'll normally do.
