Default is the mk4 granada (scorpio) fords biggest flop?

compared to all the other cars in its age group, this one seems to be the one worth bugger all money... n they were quite dear brand new too

i mean you take a 1995 1.3 escort and its worth more than the top of the range bug eyed scorpio!

do you think that this was one of fords biggest flops?

oh and there are also the most powerfull v6 engine ever made and the most torque of any engine too

Deffo agree with Steve on the probe.

Who'd buy a car named after something a Dr sticks up your ass. Still on the plus side it made MX6 rear calipers a bit cheaper

the kids of today

when you turn up at cruises in the goonybus (mk5 cortina estate with stg 3 cossie engine), all the kids are like "what's that heap?". at one time, the cortina was britains top selling car for a good few years, and now the youth of today don't even know what they are. very sad.

The facelift Scorpio Cossie was actually a really nice car to drive.
I quite like the way it looks

I'd have one but they're bastids when they go wrong…and they do go very wrong.

The 24v scorpio cossie (never actually badged as a cosworth though) are wicked motors. My brother has a 1995 (not bug-eyed) one and its really comfortable, good brakes (same as standard escort cossie), air con, electric everything. Even with the autobox they are still quite nippy and will still embarass most modern hot hatches. After driving my xr4x4 which is a lot stiffer the scorpio feels so comfortable with the added bonus that the XR feels like a go-cart when you drive that next.

Get one they are great!

Yeah, I can see why they aren't as desireable as sierra cossie but they still look good in my opinion with the optional RS kit. The performance ain't blistering compared to a cossie or scooby but it is still a fast motor.

Here is my brother's one:

Yeah don't like the look of the bug eyed one. Way too american for me. The mk 3 with an RS kit just a bit like a giant rouse sport kitted saph (just not quite as fast!).

I like em, it would have to be the later ones though coz the facelifted them and they looked better.

Very nice to drive, but don't forget Fords didn't want you to buy it over the Jag they had just released at the time, so in my eyes they made it a bit ugly on purpose.

Oh and DON'T buy the 2.3L coz they love doing head gaskets and when that happens it fooks everything

My brother's has a custon stainless exhaust and big cone filter and it sounds pretty awesome. They look better with the RS kit on but not seen many of 'em about.
