can someone give me a spec of a proper garret t4

its a .63 housing but is much bigger than a T34 .63 housing.
same as a T34 uses a T4 compressor housing thats much smaller than a RS500 T4 one, and there plenty of T4s that make them both look smaller still.

This is because the number refers to the size as an "aspect ratio". This number is the area of the exhaust/inlet (turbine/compressor side respectively) divided by the center of the particular wheel concerned to the centre of the exhaust / inlet.
Therefore, you can see that you cannot compare different housings, as although the a/r may be the same, it is achieved with vastly different figures.

That would be a T3 mate
If it uses T3 compressor housing and T3 turbine housing, its a T3
A T34 is a T34 as it uses a small T4 compressor housing and a fairly large T3 turbine housing.
NO internally it is the EXACT SAME SIZE AS T34, and uses a trim wheel from a T34.
If you look at a escy T34 it reduces in size at the entry to the same size, ie entrance to trim wheel is TAPERED.
The reason I did it this way was to save having to pfaff around with diffrerent pipes, plus my other two secret mods!!
Bearing housing is the same across T3/34/4 as well.

Well, as no SPECIFIC details were given for engine spec how do you think it is going to happen that ANYONE is going to be able to give a SPECIFIC answer ?
A spec of the T4 as fitted to the RS500 is quite obviously what was asked for, mine was merely a suggestion that it does not have to be a garrett, and could in fact be a KK or other make that does NOT attract stupidly inflated prices, especially from people that trade in cossies.
And loads of people have the "wrong" turbo but they are the customer and if they want it it is not really of anyone else's business, it does not make them wrong either.
Better is a "SWEEPING", statement from you, who are you to say what is better ?, it is down to the customer what characteristics he would like and they MAY not agree with any recommendations made, so therefore what is better for one is not better for all.
Correct application, get your head out of the sand, loads of different cars have had different turbos from other casr stuck on them, are they wrong ?, no they are just individuals who want what they do, it is not "CORRECT" just because so and so does it whether they be a mainstream manufacturer or not, who still make mistakes despite their enormous budgets, look at the problems with 2wd cossie heads, they were so right they changed the casting and cooling system, and Cosworth probably know more than most having patented a particular cassting technique at it's WORCESTER factory.

Tabs,
It is just a pet hate of mine about people saying something is better, when it is actually WORSE, but just "cheaper"
. Say what you mean and mean what you say
.
Which specific KKK turbo peforms BETTER than a T4 in all aspects and is also a direct bolt-on application? THAT information would be 100% valid and of significant importance
.
The reason I say it is better, because all the turbos I sell or recommend have been expertly dyno tested and proven, so I can tell you exactly how much power they will make with a well built engine, what the boost threshold is like and that they WILL work with a specific application. The customer can then make a valid choice about picking a turbo that does what they want.
All too many times I have seen people buy something they "think" might work (or because man down't pub told him it would), only to find that it is entirely unsuited for their application
. They then end up with a turbo that just does NOTHING to compliment the engine spec, but have to lump it or pay out TWICE and buy the correct one. Do it right, do it ONCE

Mike you don't half talk some shit.
Read what I have said, I have already been asked why they are better, one notable point is the ability to obtain parts!!
I expect it would be different if you were selling KKK, like you seek someone to doante their car for weeks for one of your pet projects, and all they get is a discount!!, IT' TAKING THE PISS, they should get a FREE cooler, not a crappy discount, it is only so the likes of yourself and others can make money at the end of the day.
Don't assume that everyone one thinks you or any other dealer is a god of things engine wise, or that people want to do it your way.
I do like your insinuations, "down the pub".
Why oh knowledgable one did your engine go bang, why did your car spit it's shafts out these are ALL problems that have been know about for years.
Just because you dislike myself, which of course you are entitled to do and I welcome it(free speech) does not mean that everything I say is wrong, or because you sell parts you are right.
I help a lot of people on here as best I can and will ask others if I don't know, as I don't know much, but the people I ask have forgotten more than you/or I will ever know.

ps I will not be wasting anymore time on this subject, please feel free to PM me if you want.

so out of pure interst what turbo would you mike And tabetha recomend for a an engine spec like this
bd16 inlet and exsaust cams
veriour pullys,
cosworth lo comp pistons (7.2:1)
Arrow rods
Ballance Bottom end
Port and polish
Swidish inlet
running on omex 600 ecu
aiming for around 550bhp but if its under o well
it would be intersting to see the garrett and kkk veriounts so a little compreson could be done

Regarding my "pet project", although it was my idea of how to design the new intercooler, for your information, I would not be making a single penny on this item in the first instance, as the guinea-pig would be paying Pro-Alloy direct and it was them that decided this is how they wanted to do it. The only way I would then be able to make any money, was from future sale of the product, once the intercooler was available to sell

. It cracked because Harvey tried to bore it beyond what he KNEW he could get away with, because he found an early block that had 1mm more meat on it. Unfortunately this wasn't consistant everywhere Regarding the shafts, there is only a problem with these IF the engine mounts are mullered or the car is excessively lowered. Since my car has neither of these issues, I didn't realise it would be a problem. However, I can now add "excessive camber" to that list
. However, all of the above you know, as we discussed at the last meet
.

. I may not be right about everything, but I am knowledgeable about the parts I sell, and you STILL haven't explained WHICH KKK turbo for what application
