Default Cold Air = more boost?

Does colder air (ie 15< ACT's) allow the turbo to compress the air and generate higher boost more easily? I took my car out for a run the other night and instead of hitting the normal 17/18 psi it was hitting and holidng 20 with no problems.

Just wondering

You just have to watch that the car is set up for the higher boost you can achieve. My car loves the cold weather, it feels SO MUCH quicker, I thought that this morning!!

Its setup for 24psi at the moment so no worries there I didn't feel much difference in terms of power but the response was so much better as the turbo seemed to spool up that much quicker

If a car is set up for say..... 18psi, will it do any damage if you turn it down via the actuator to say, 16 or maybe 14???

Overfueling??

depends what car and how the managemet works.

if it's quite primitive and gives full fuelling if the TPS sees WOT and the MAP sees some boost, then yes you could have overfuelling.

different boost at different temps is why things like boost cotrol was invented. you can't rely on a shitty bleed system (like amal valves) to give you consistent boost whatever the air temps. boost controllers or a proper ecu with integrated closed loop boost control is best.

Wont do any damage on MFI mate, it will simply over fuel on full power and may run like crap...... which is why my car is currently having new management fitted with high/low boost control
