rev counter fault

Default rev counter fault

When i switch my ignition on my rev counter jumps upto 1k on the rev counter

And when i start it it over reads something like 2k on tick over any ideas what it could be ??

rs turbo rev counters are total wank, only thing you cando is change th clocks
saq put cossie ones in his turbo,
or get an aftermarket revoc ounter, mine reads 2 k at idles, an 3k k on the limiter

they are new clocks mate

they work great in my mates rst but in mine just by switching the ignition on they jump to 1k without the engine running like a wiring fault

might be efi clocks they read higher than they should

easy fix,take the plasic cover off,turn the ignition on,pull needle off,set to 0,stick it back on,job done

check earth points mate and stereo is wired right may b causing interference

check the plug on the loom next to the coil is in properly, and making good contact. any corrosion or such would make it not read right.
