Mongoose all day long not too loud and less restrictive than a magnex

so im led to believe great all round system must have an outward rolled

tailpipe

I dont think ive ever see one of these Blue flame jobbies.... dont suppose anyone has any pictures of theirs?
The only thing putting me off the mongoose is that they seem to hang quite low, kinda away from the body if that makes sense? where as the magnex fits right up in the floor pan.... just an observation - i could be wrong?

depends how it's mounted. the mongoose can be angled high/low short/long. This due the slip overs.

Two choices really.

Magnex and Mongoose.

Scorpian is a BIG no no as the boxes reduce in diameter and restrict flow.

Go thru my restoration thread on the rsoc (click my link) or you can also go on www.blackcossie.com which also has a pic of the exhaust parts off the car....excuse that site tho as its about 18mnths out of date which you'll know if you click on my resto thread before hand

mongoose is straight through one pipe and on 4x4 removes cat

magnex mirrors standard system and on 4x4 is cat back system. alot easier to pass mots emissions

but both systems are superb but mongoose obviously flows better due to it being one pipe with no cat

Scorpion reduces insize SLIGHTLY to offer some back pressure, needed for a turbo engine!!
Mine is std and 3 1/2" is the minimum size which is ample for at least 600bhp.
With scorpion you can also buy a pipe to replace centre box if you wish, mine makes ace power with scorpion.

I have a Mongoose and its alright but getting a little tired now. I like the Magnex system and it fits better and is a little less noisey.

If i was going to buy another off the shelf system i would go for the blueflame for the price i can get them for. I had one on my old car and as has been said its the same as a mongoose except it has bolt flang. The reason they are the same is because Blueflame used to make all of Mongoose's systems.

What I like about Mongoose, is it's silent at idle, so you can roll up to the lights stealthily, like in the right-turn lane when you want to go straight on, then NAIL it when the lights change

tabetha....are you mental?

A turbo engine needs back pressure?

Extensive testing has been done on the exhust on my car and it is the size it is for a reason.

Back pressure helps a turbo engine to develop more power.
NOTE "mental" tabetha did NOT say LOADS of backpressure but a certain amount helps, this would be arrived at by testing to see how much, but other things will alter this amount, most particularly cam choice/lift.

the turbo itself gives the engine any back pressure it might need, so this means you want as free a flowing system as possible

Extreme from woodford garage (before Sue collins got involed!!)

Based on a mongoose with bolt flanges and prop and diff hangers and a 4" slash cut(bit different anyway)

Excellent imo
