Shit imho.
I would go for Newman cam or if the funds won't allow it a Kent CVH35. IME the 285T2 cam sacrifices too much in the rest of the rev range for a smal increase in peak power. If you're chasing figure you may be fine if you want a car that's good to drive I wouldn't go near it

hi gav i spoke to sue collins and told her my spec of engine and she advised me to have a piper cam she uses them and never had any probs with them. newman were'nt helpfull at all mate and i'm definately not having a kent cvh35 thats what i had fitted before and it did 900 miles and wore no1 lobe clean off. the said my engien was faulty but as the guy who rebuilt it for me use to work for sue collins and turbo systems, they sent a engineer out to check oil pressure etc and he couldnt find anything wrong with my engine they just payed half of the price for it. i told sue collins that john reid had rebuilt my engine and done the headwork she said he was one of the best she has had working for her along with chris. she was quite taken back that ive got a bentley arnage t3 turbo fitted to my fiesta

Piper have as much of an issue with their blanks as Kent (and are equally as unhelpfull). Only Newman seem to have this issue well and truely sussed. Taking the Newman out of the equation I would still opt for the CVH35 hand and fist over the 285T2 but it's your money at the end of the day and ultimately your choice.

in my old fiesta i had a piper 285t cam in it, and i was speaking to one of the guys down at power engineering and he said to me the t cam is better to gofor than the t2 cam, even though it states that it is designed for higher boosting engines, the cam sacrifices a lot of the rev range points for little extra performance, seriously reduces everyday drivingness
