Ive just recently bought a 1986 3 door with 57k on it. I want to do a major service on it, what all is advisable to do?

Oil + Filter
Timing belt
Cam seals as they are leaking a tiny bit.
Head Gasket
Fuel Filter
Plugs
Distributor

Anything else anymore can suggest doing?

Change brake fluid if it hasn't been done recently.

 

air filter if its a k&n type clean & oil it
check alternator belt
top up water, check anti freeze concentration
check brakes discs / pads for wear
suspension linkages, ball joints, gaiters etc
exhaust
ht leads
thats what i can think of on top of what you have already said.

 

Forgot to say brake fluid. And i have new motorsport leads for it

 

rear diff and gear box oil

 

wouldnt bother with the head gasket unless its gone, as you may end up having to skim the head which isnt great on a cossie

 

dont do the headgasket as part of a service

 

Tensioner when you do the belt.
Check carefully the PHASE sesnor wires inside the dizzy as early ones fall to pieces.
If doing the cam seals might as well use VITON seals as way better than ford ones.

Norris said to do the head gasket cause the corrode and then it destroys the engine. What oils do the gearbox and diff take?
