speaking to the parts manager at ford today to get a headgasket he said Payen is who suplies ford! i got one from ford anyway and got one at home whats payen and guess what

There exactly the same down to the markings

i thought they are different unles its a new thing!

 

Payen aren't going to make two different gaskets for the same car are they

Tonnes of ford parts aren't actually made by ford

 

none of the car is made by ford... they just assemble them

 

they just add Ł20 on the price

To cover some little things like:

warranty
over-heads
the fact they designed it in the 1st place
stocking it all over the country

 

Ford as others PAY someone like PAYEN etc to design them, but not all are the same, ie they will use more than one supplier for the same part.
They would also use different ones for some models ie VR for cossies.
As said apart from some major parts all stuff made by thrid parties, some smaller enterprises may be owned by car manufacturers.
