Default koni adj lifetime

i have been missing around with my koni adj and have set them at a pretty firm rate as they were quite soft. they feel like coilovers now. does tightening them up increase the wear on them?

Bear in mind that the adjusting only affects the rebound and the bound is quite soft in comparison to start with.

Just a valve that controls the flow of the fluid (oil)

I would assume that if you are stiffing up the suspention you are limiting the amount of fluid that is diplaced in the shocks which would put more stress on the components. So i recon it could mak a diffrence. I thought that koni suspention came with a liftime gurantee anyway.

Not that much that you will notice.

This is how Bilstein control the damping Andy

Compression discs limit the fluid one way, and rebound discs monitor it the other way.

In an adjustable strut basically the valve apperture is the bit thats adjustable (open or closed as you say). This is fine when the oil stays at one temperature as it will give consistant bump/rebound characteristics. As the viscosity drops with heat it will alter things slightly. Thats why on the expensive struts you will see remote canisters and on competition Bilstein's you find fixed bump/rebound
