My monitor does exactly the same, and bought it new, about 18 months ago. Have tried what you have and was told it must be a problem with my loom. Still doing it now, just live with it now. Still annoying though.

Is it true that you get a high idle speed if the value is too high? And if not speaking in % what should be the right voltage reading at idle?

the correct voltage as seen at the ecu for a 4x4 (PF09) TPS is between 0.25 and 0.3 volts or 250 to 300 millivolts depending what scale your autoranging meter selects you will find that this is almost exactlty half way along the elongated slots

Thanks, mine was 0.192 Volts with the old TPS and 0.135 Volts with the new TPS at the same 40 Ohms adjustment. (i thought this was the correct base setting for the tps..). Now I have adjust it to 0.306 Volts.

Also tried 0.385 Volts (thats a base setting of 70 Ohms someone advised) but then the idle speed rised towards 2000 rpm!!

So I hope this 0.3 Volts setting also cures the problem that I had for having to adjust my CO to 8.5% to get it drive smootly off boost. Hopefully it can be turned down now to the required 3% for a smooth drive.

correct, to high a voltage back and the ecu kicks up to fast idle by opening the ISCV and leaving it open - been there - done that its all well and good setting it up for resistance at hte TPS, but its what the ecu actuallt sees back at the connector after its travveled down a scabby old ford loom that counts
