Base setting PF09 TPS
I want to check the base setting of the TPS on my cosworth 4x4 L8 but dont know which value is best to use.
Here on the board I read that the base setting should be 70 Ohms, but in the Ford manual it says 40 Ohms.
The reason I ask is that when pulling away with my car it feels like its short of fuel when setting the CO at the required 2.7%. When turning it up to about 8% it pulls nicely away.
I think a wrong base adjustment can also cause this.
Its on greens, 3 bar map sensor and chip. Hope someone can explain it to me.

4wd TPS is as follows.
With ecu disconnected,
resistance between,
EARTH(PIN11) + SUPPLY VOLTAGE(PIN30) = 300 - 600 OHMS
SUPPLY AND SIGNAL(PIN17) = 300 - 600 OHMS
SUPPLY AND SIGNAL = 600 - 40 OHMS while opening throttle
Hope this helps.

Thanks Tabetha. This info you gave me I already have from a ford manual.
But its the problem that my engine has. This combined with a wrong TPS setting could be the issue I think.

No, its not a misfire. It just doesnt pull away smoothly when the CO setting is at the required 2.7%. When setting it at 8% it feels much stronger at low revs. Imagion just pulling away at a traffic light, not at full throttle, just a normal drive away. Then untill the boost comes in it feels like there is little power, like its getting too little fuel. A recent rolling road session saw indeed a lean mixture through the whole rev range.
So I thought if this base setting isnt correct, all the calculations made by the ECU also are at the wrong values. Doesnt sound too bad does it?

If you have not already done so I would try a new CTS anyway.
RR should have been able to diagnose this, ideal place to do it.
Also it it has not been done in the last two years do the fuel filter.
I had a problem where mine(2wd) would produce no power until boost, then bang all of a sudden, that did NOT show as lean on the RR but massive problem on the road, new filter cured it though.
Can't see the TPS causing a massive problem like you have, partially blocked filter will though, goes when on boost as fuel pressure raises and CO richens.
It should be perfectly happy at your CO setting

Yep, like I already wrote, have changed a lot to get it solved. Did change the CTS and also put a new fuel filter on it, but didnt cured it..
I am looking for an relation between the better driving away with higher CO setting. So thats why my mind is now on the TPS.
