Was the XR3I and XR2I engine identical?

first off 8v or 16v?
if 8v:
is yours k jet or efi coz all of the xr2is are efi and i think only 1990 onwards xr3i's are efi

if 16v
sorry havent a clue

the EFi XR3i adn XR2i are the same

the MFi lump in the pre-90 XR3is (the common ones) are different

the MFi has the hose coming round the back of the engine on the right (looking from front of car) the EFi has it coming over the top of the rocker cover

XR2is (in this country) are all EFi

some are 8v CVH some are 16v Zetec (really late ones)

xr2i was deffinately only ever made as an efi 1.6 cvh 8v and a 1.8 efi zetec 16v.

xr2i cvh version was aslo almost identical in mechanical parts to the FRST. just different oil return comp ratio etc. whole whead is exactly the same.
