Default Insurance - for a 17 year old???

Can anyone recomend any good insurance co's that i can try for my little bro??
Im trying (and currently failing) to get a half decent price for his 1.3 mk5 escort, he's 17, so anything with power won't be insurable, and he'll be a bloody danger to himself!
i've been phoning about all morning, but my best quote so far is 2058, with the highest of 8120, but have prob missed some co's that peeps on here have good expirieneces with!

On the plus side, i've been quoted 1200 quid F/C on an esc.cos- just gota get myself a f/t job now!!!

cheers peeps!

Try typing into google morethaninsurance.

I was having the same problem with my daughter and nephew who are both 17 and the best quotes on a fictional 95 Fiesta 1100 was about Ł1200 TP only

Its a rip off, but it keeps the little feckers off the road

He's gonna get screwed until he gets that first years no claims bonus. I moaned when my first car (a 1.6 Ghia Mk3 Escort) cost me Ł800 to insure TPFT. When my bro came to driving his first car (Nova 1.2 Merit) he paid a whopping Ł1400 TP only

Tesco aren't so bad, and Tangent were ok when my bro was looking but that was a good few years ago as I'm now an old fart

Just as an exampe, I have been getting quotes for getting the cossie back on the road and the cheapest I could get was Ł34??.??

I then got some quotes for my daily runner, a G red Golf driver and I got a best quote of Ł488 just goes to show how much difference a shitty car can make

course its not true

the pass plus is nothing to do with your driving licence its justa recognised driver improvement scheme that MOST (not all) insurance companies will offer some discount for

Correct, but if you have a crash the pass pass isn't recognised anymore and I think I'm right in saying that it only lasts for a year (I think)

Lee Lad - Ł3400 was for my saff, which I personally thought was terrible seeing as I had it insured three months ago with Greenlight for Ł1900 FC
