Default Poorboys Sealant

Hi

I'm thinking of getting some Poorboys sealant to protect my new car.

Question: does it need to be reapplied every time the car is washed or not?

Thanks
Martin

No...if you make sure the paint is perfectly clean and polished up nicely, the sealant will last a good while, that said though, make sure you only use 'good' quality shampoo to wash the car with ( Duragloss is good ) using fairy liquid will strip polishes and sealants before long.

i use Johnsons baby shampoo to wash mine, it works very very well

Thanks Martin, that's brilliant, the car is brand new so hopefully will be in pristine condition when I get it!

How often would you recommend re-applying the stuff?

Cheers,
Martin

tbh through the summer months it should last at least 4-6 months i reckon...if you add a couple of layers of wax on top too then that will prolong it some more

i have used Duragloss 111 clear coat polish (which is more of a sealant strangely) followed by a couple of layers of poorboys natty blue wax on the girlfriends mini, and it's still shining now a few months later ( only gets washed once a fortnight too tbh )

there are better combinations out there though dependant on the colour

ps...you need to also make sure you use good quality wash mitts (rather than sponges) and also dry with a waffle weave drying towel (rather than a chamois)

hope this helps
