Rebuild it with a bigger stronger bottom end. Maybe some nice forged conrods wouldnt be a bad idea

Lewis has you car not got steel rods in it with forged pistons.

Were you cruising or slowing down from a high speed blast

Sorry to hear about it, its never good to open the bonnet and find out bits of your car have dissapered or fallen off

Nah, fuck it. If it breaks you get it fixed and move on. Just about anything that can break, shatter, smash or pack in, has on mine (Ask T28)

Car is better for it now, everything works all the time and I have no fear putting the foot down or going on a long run anymore

Just need to try and avoid foxes crossing the road in future

You'll be back mate, mibbe a few ŁŁ's lighter but what the hell eh?

To make that hole would it have let go at the crank.

Steel rods and crank(i think) surely it would have has ARP bolts

Lewis's bottom end

Low compression bottom end. Farndon steel crank, arrow steel rods, accrelite pistons 0.5mm oversize, A.R.P rod bolts, A.R.P flywheel bolts,

Looks very strong but it let go so easily

Deffo dave, doubt a seized piston would do that.

I would have thought that ARP's would be statutory on any rebuild not just a power build, hopefully lewis might still have the build receipt from the last owner which can back this up and hopefully not a bodge.

still its not impossibly that they could fail

Could the conrod bolts have worked loose and sheared off? Sorry to hear about your misfortune As said above you just dont expect that sort of thing to happen with a spec like that
