Escos ABS question
HI Guys
Thought i'd post this here as no-one seems to know what the problem is in the escos room...
Basically, i've got a problem with my ABS light - now normally when you turn the ignition on, the light will illuminate, and then turns itself off again. Mine is not illuminating at all.
I've just fitted a MSD coilpack conversion, and the car starts as it should, and all the other lights illuminate correctly when you turn the ignition on bar the ABS light.
Has anyone expirienced this before? - I can't for the life of me work out what the problem would be.
The light does illuminate when you disconnect any one of the 4 wheel sensors. It also comes on when you disconnect the top of the ABS gubbins on the n/s inner wing.
The only wiring that i have touched to fit the DIS are the ones that are needed. The supressor to the coil has been removed, and soldered, as per the instructions on the MSD pack.
The only other thing that is slightly odd is that i've not had to mod the rev-counter to make it read correctly - it reads correctly as is, but i'm aware of other posts saying that they have had too...
Can anyone point me in any other direction where to look as this is becoming more than slightly annoying, and i want to get this solved ASAP so I can book the car in for a set-up.
Failing that, would Fords be able to out the car on their tester, and diagnose the fault at all?
Cheers
Rich

Sounds like its working fine to me.
Dont forget, the light comes on when you first start the car as the pump has to pressure up the system.
If you have turned it on and off quickly, the pressure wont go away so the light doesnt come on for as long if at all.
The fact it comes on when you create a fault says its ok.
Try leaving the car for an hour and see what happens

Should have said that- its defo NOT the bulb...
The bulb works fine in the fuel level light, and it still defo works in the ABS illumination as it comes on if you disconnect one of the wheel sensors..
Only other thing is the brakes are really quite spongy, but i'm going to bleed them at some point this week.. - they were fine before (although the car has not been used for nearly 4 months)

I haven't checked for power going to the light when you turn the ingition on - but if there was, then surley the blub would illuminate so the prob must lie elsewhere??

Yeah - I bought the wiring loom from MSD, connected it to pins 21 and 26 ( i think that was what the instructions said) on the ECU.
The old connectors for the coil have been insulated, as per the instructions too...
And, yep, the ABS still works too....

Ritey then - as it seems that no-one has a clue, does anyone know how much ford are likely to rob me of to plug the car into their diagnostic machine to establish what the problem is?

But where...

There is power going to the bulbs when the ignition is turned on, so its an earthing prob, but its like trying to find a needle in a bloody haystack
Does nayone know where the ABS, and other main earth points are by chance?
