Default starting problem

I had a problem with my 3dr yesterday, the car just cut out, when I tried to restart the fuel pump was runnig and the ecu warning light had gone off, but it just turned and didn't even attempt to fire, after the car had been left about half an hour it fired straight away, I am thinking it must be a dodgy sensor, as a complete failure or wiring fault would have put on the ecu light, is it possible for a sensor to read ok on the meter but not give out a correct signal, and is it possible for it to then work again, I now have no chance of finding the fault as it is working again, anyone had anything similar as I need to get to the bottom of this as unreliability is something I hate.
Thanks in advance.

will try both phase and tps sensors, I have no fault shown by the warning light that is what is confusing me, I travel armed with a multimeter and a wiring diagram ready for it to go, but so far cannot find anything wrong, it is really annoying but I will get there in the end. It is a full ignition cut that I am experiencing am getting no spark at all when the fault occurs, Fuel filter quite new so I can rule that out thanks for advice.

Try your wires on your starter motor mate, could be corroded and dirty maybe some oil about them, i dont no why its cut out tho so its probably not but worth a try
