Default Any Air Traffic Controllers on Passionford? (update 2)

Was quite interested in this job before I started studying at the Uni. My dads a pilot so I always loved planes and everything around them.

Seen some ads for it now some 10 years later. Got a bit curious again and did a search on Google. Apparently the pay is very good.

What about stress, is it really that stressing during a normal day?

I would hope the pay is very good, as the stress levels would be insane (I would imagine)

Go rent PUSING TIN - a 1999 movie about air traffic controllers.... See if you still wanna do it then

a friend from uni does it up at blackpool airport - don't think he gets too stressed and he loves the job.

before 9/11, he could ask to go on the flight deck during a flight as part of the crew. him and another mate got to sit in there as they flew into JFK at night - reckoned it was an awesome sight

Used to play ATC games when I was young and all got very stressful at the end and I guess they scared me off a bit. I doubt its like that in real life unless you work at any of the major airports.

Sitting in the cockpit during landing is great, only done it in a small miltary aircrafts though, felt a bit unstable.

Been looking into this a bit more and apparently my grades are good enough so I will give it a shot and fill out the application.

Only 30% pass their first test and after that its a few more test.

Wish me luck.

Yes, I read the other day that they got a high pay raise in Norway and in Denmark they are negotiating. Hopefully it will go up here too as I doubt they can pay less than other countries for a ever.

I think they are taking on 120 in Sweden this time.

Will be fun taking the test and if you dont make I could always get back to Uni instead.

Been there, done it. Didn't like it.

It depends what sort of ATC you want to do? You will have to pay for the training too. Even if you were to join the RAF and let them pay to train you, your military qualification won't count int he real world.

PM me if you want more info

Took the first test on thursday and been angry at myself since then as I thought I missed quite a bit on some simple questions.

Got a letter in the mailbox today with the results and for some strange reason I passed.

Bring on test phase 2.

Im not shure either but as with all tests I would like to pass.

Will start to consider it if I pass.

I dont think much of myself so never really thought I could do it but people around me seems to think I would fit fine.
