you can buy longer dog bones for most bikes now, basically it just alters the pivot point of the rear shock - hence the lowering but same travel effect.

what bike you thinking of getting?

Yep as said, the previous owner of a mates bike had the seat foam cut down by about 2 inches so he could touch the floor better.

Seen a lot with lowered seats, and not too bad a price either.

ps my thundercat has a kind of coilover rear shock that is adjustable, but i havnt needed to mess with it as im not a midget

all bike rear shocks are height adjustable to some extent.

just depends on what bike it is and how much of a shortarse you are lol

There are a couple of options you could take.

You can get a custome seat made which like theyve said aboe, lowers your bum, hence being able to reach the floor better, me personally would do this, as altering the forks or suspension realoly changes the handling of the bike..... almost to the point where you cant lean as far!

I had a CBR600 and i'm only 5' 2". you can adjust it onto a softer setting on the spring which will lower it a bit...

You'll be fine once you get used to it. The CBR is probarly heavier than the GSXR was as its a bit older

not a problem for me at 6'2", but if you lower the rear you should probably lower the front forks through the yoke as wellto keep the angles similar.

think a cut down seat is a better option.

a little tip that i learnt during some rider training is when you come to a stop at a junction where you will be putting your foot down, look down a bit to that side just as you come to a stop and that will lean the bike onto that foot so that you feel more comfortable

Have the seat cut and get used to riding it.
I'm only about 5'4 and rode bikes for a while so It's no bother once you get comfortable.
You could always slide to side you favor more and lean a bit so your whole foot is almost flat while the other one is on the peg
