My s2 Resto zetec turbo build complete new pics 19/09/07
right where to start my rs has been looking a bid sad after the winter and due to the turbo going in january i pulled it off the road my intentions where initally to just put a new turbo on and carry on enjoing the car. anyways on starting to remove things i became curious to the state of the car. underneath the car is mint has only been welded once by the drivers seat mounting point the car used to be concours by the previous owner but sadly its age is setting in. me and my freind who owns a local bodyshop have set about starting work on the car. first step was to take the engine out and get that rebuilt whilst the bodywork is underway
anyways heres what ive found so far

original Battery tray still solid just needs cleaning up and painting

drivers rear arch gone quite bad but easily solved


passenger rear arch just as bad as drivers lol amazing what the trims hide lol
both sills are new already


rear wheel well is mint just going to have it repainted

tailgate is mint
sunroof is mint

drivers door inner


bulkhead by battery tray this is the worse bit lol



a piller drivers side was jsut a bit of a blister now all cut out lol



my new head i got off ebay now for sale apply within as im going full zetec turbo


as it was before i started


side view gonna bin the black wheels for a set of severn spokes if i can find a set lol

the start of a badboy bonnet

cut out bumper gonna be binned for a 90spec cut out version lol

engine bay at present

intercooler

engine now being changed again going for a full zetec turbo now with omex :P spec to follow
anyways that will do you for nows ill get more pics up as the work progresses

cheers lads hope to get it finished for ford fair should have all the welding done by next weekend then its off to the paint shop to have the body work sorted out couple of dings here and there. just wish that bloody post man would hurry up.

Right i havent updated this in ages so i fought id get some new pics up for you all to look at. have changed the spec of the car alot since the last update. Binned the zvh build and now gone for full zetec turbo.
spec now is as follows. 2.0 zetec rebored and decked by hargrieves engineering.
Cylender head delevopments pahse 4 zetec turbo cams ground by kent.
stainless steel valves with chrome flashed stems. new valve guide seals and new tappets.
Vernier pulleys.
steel con rods
supertech forged pistons and rings
new main bearings
new big end bearings
-34 actuator
t34
fse 255 fuel pump
nissan 200sx injectrs
efi inlet with 2.0 throttle body
fse power boost valve
omex 600 and loom supplied by pts
arp cam bolts
arp head studs
arp flywheel bolts
ap 4 paddle clutch
cts stage 2 + gearbox
vibratech engine mounts
sfs hoses
new water pump
cometic head gasket
new oil pump
all new bottom head gaskets.
meanwhile whilst i have been building this the car has hgad all the welding done new arches, sills, ineer arches and is now down at tenby coachworks. being resprayed in radient red with red metal flake.
My seats, door cards, dashboard ,and all other bits are being trimed at lanion uphosltry in cream leather with red piping
i have also got some new wheels kei force 10 17" with toyo t1-s tyres
a half cage
and a few bits and pieces of audio

300mm hi spec disks with ji spec billet 4 calipers

rear strut brace

255 fuel pump

new isotta stearing wheel in red leather

new wing mirrors with red metalflake

smoothed out rear bumper

kei force 10 with toyo tyres

Thanks lads been feeling a bit down with it the last couple of days and considered breaking it. but reading this makes me wanna get back on it.
Everything just seems to cost money and ive been waiting over a year to get to this stage now and it still feels miles away just suppose id better crack on
