I know everyone thinks they are pony Stu but i put T1-S's on both my erst as in the dry they were seriously grippy but lasted half the time of any other tyre i had but i didn't mind as i honestly thought they gripped well and worked well under braking...
But when i put them on the saff they was fooking terrible man
that was 2wd so not 100% sure what difference it made but would always stick them on another erst and nowhere near a cossie as they were like nangkang ditchfinders

I had T1R's before and had the problems with sidewall flex that you lot are describing, changed them to F1's and it loads better.
On my 4x4 cossie i've got T1S's and they don't seem too bad, though i've not really had the chance to push them yet

So basically, what I have read into from this post, is that is very much a personal preference thing

I'm not much of a tyre expect but I'll give you my two cents. I had T1-R's on the front of my Mondeo and I didn't have any problem with them and even after 100 miles on track they shown no signs of blistering and the side walls were nice and hard. Will give Eagle F1's a go next time.

Ive got T1-R's on the front of my car now, and I think they are very good. I previously had Michelin Pilot Sports.
A friend had Goodyear F1's a few years back on his Cossie, and the tread peeled off them like remoulds after a bit of diffing.
I would never put a Goodyear F1 on my car after seeing that. Total crap IMO. I have actually had Colway remoulds withstand 10x the abuse the F1's seen ( which had less than 500 miles on them !!!! )
That said, plenty do seem to offer good reports about the Goodyears....
I wont be throwing my money away on them though !

Whilst I may be into drag racing, its very difficult to actually get to a track, without driving a few hundred miles
My car does get used....perhaps not on a race track, but it does get used on the road quite often.
Id defo agree F1's arent for drifting ( although I did say diffing in this instance....little odds either way )
No way would I put a tyre on my car that I know is going to fly apart as soon as it breaks traction....
And to mention Colway remoulds. Years ago I tried a pair of their 245/45x16 on the rear of an older Granada I had. They were surprisingly good !! and under half the price of a normal tyre.
