Default AGGHHHHHHHHH!! my cars gone bang!!!!

ok here goes..

yesterday i had the car in bits as i bought a .48 exhaust housing for my turbo and decided to fit it..

today at 10.00am i went to fill the car up with fuel.. put £20 in and thought id take it for a run..

took it on the motorway for a junction,, when i hit 110mph, water went all over my windscreen and the car didnt sound right..
when i came off at the next junction and slowed down the car sounded like a Subaru Impreza engine sound!!!!

so i knew it was miss firing!!!

while the engine was running i pulled a plug lead out at a time to see which piston wasnt running, and found that cylinder 2 was dead!! then there was only 1/2 of life in cylinder 3!!!!!

then as i got closer to home the car began to smoke its arse off and pressurize!! when i took the water cap off it smelt like petrol. so i shit my self..lol..

took off my cylinder head to inspect that area to find this!!!

my head gasket had melted!!!!

DONT EVER USE FELPRO GASKETS AS THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS!!!!

gave my head a good clean up and the stainless valves are untouched Surprised)

found a little pitting in the head where cylinder 2 is, and looks like a little detonation!!

The pistons are untouched tho..

so now at 11.17am im waiting for the GENUINE FORD head gasket and bolts to come then it will be back on by tonight!!

Laughing

yeah so if any1 has a felpro head gasket on their modded RS take it straight off cos they are fucking WANK!!!!!!!

but no i have just had a call and my gasket and bolts will be here in 30mins.. wahoo!!!!!

i must say that the .48 housing is well worth doing as its made my car wild once the turbo is spinning!!!

check the surface of the head is true, 6 thou max, but i prefer to keep em less.

Have u enough fuel now that you have the 48 - they flow a lot more air.

run 28psi and nitrous with a felpro when it did go between number three and four cylinders that was due to det, my fault for hitting the rev limiter with nitrous currently running 30psi with felpro could do with something stronger but god knows what to use with 85mm bore..

lol.. tell me bout it.. but now its all running again, ive just finished it )

yeah i should imagine im using enough fuel cos it looks like its been overfuelling its arse off!!! when i took the exhaust manifold off i could scrape the carbon out with a spoon!! and my head was full of it too!!

so now i got it all off back down to the polished ports and got it back on.. its now booked in for a setup at well lane., for next week

btw, the .48 dont have give it more power once the turbo spools,, it sent the car all over the road!! and im only boosting at 14psi!!

my spec at the mo is..

EFI CONVERTED
LOW COMP FORGED PISTONS
STAGE 3 BIG VALVE HEAD, WITH STAINLESS INLET VALVES AND MULTIANGLE VALVE SEATS, BRONZE GUIDES
kent cvh cam
BEIGE INJECTORS
CHIPPED
COSSIE T3 TURBO
COSSIE FUEL PUMP
FILTER
PRO ALLOY INTERCOOLER..

You sure that gasket hasn't failed from running too lean?

Thats the reason 99% of gasket fail
