Default series 1 rs turbo broke down already

right ive owned my series 1 for one day and the fun has begun . drove it 50 mile last night with no problems. parked it up last night and it started fine this morning. but after driving it a bit today it decided to start stalling now and again not all the time mainly if id been on boost a bit before say coming to a junction. and then 30 mins ago it stalled and hasnt restarted yet. ive tryed fuel just incase the gauge was reading wrong but still nothing. its pretty standard as far as i no but i have noticed the amal valve looks missing i no my series 2 had one but this engine dosent seem to have one and theres 2 pipes that have been blocked off if any one can give me a clue what could be causing this problem please help

Just to make you guys feel better, mine has just sailed through the MOT for the second year i've had her, with no prep work being done both years
Had plenty of other problems with her lately though
We've all had moments with our S1's when we just wanna say fuck it ! Thing is with the problem you have, it could be a number of things. it's a process of elimination Mine turned out to be the distributor the first time it was playing up, then the plugs the second time that had only been in a couple of hundred miles
Hope you get sorted fella especially now the summer's coming

no it hasnt been backfiring it was pulling like a train with no misfires hesitation or anything. im going to take it in for a tune up next week as it hadnt been used alot previously ive got a mate whos a mechanic he seems to think the fuel mixture needs adjusting thats what could be causing it to stall. i started it again last night from cold and it fired up straight away. i let it warm up to temp but found if i was to rev it up it wouldnt hold revs it would just stall. arnt gona give up yet im loving the attention it gets and the performance compared to my 2.0 8valve calibra that ive been driving for 6 months is fooking amazing.
thanks syko

Default rs update

right sorted my problem out today. turned out to be the dumpvalve when coming off boost it wasnt closing properly so was making the car stall so i took it off and its now running a dream ticks over a treat aswell and seems to be starting fine. im now a happy person again just need to source another dumpvalve.

Don't bother with the dump valve mate...unless you really like the noise. You've already experienced one problem with them, but maybe it was the wrong type or knackered.

Although to be fair, I ran with a bailey d/v on my S2 for years and never had a problem with it. If you do want one, get a bailey item.
However, I sold it when I got the S1 as I didn't want to fit it and started getting slight chatter anyway. Much better noise imo.

You got any pics of your car??

I'd advise you to keep the DV off aswell, but again as Shawn says, if you really want one Bailey is what u want
