i had a sytec uprated fuel pump fitted to my escort cossy.and now when i reach 4000rpm it starts missing.like there's no fuel getting in, just air. i would appreciate any advice. Thanks

 

Sounds like you may have a engine sensor problem or corrosion in the loom or a dodgy contact somewhere and the ECU is in limp mode if it won't rev above 4000rpm.

Has the problem only occurred immediately after the pump was fitted ?

 

yeah.it was after i fitted the new pump the problem occurred.

 

Was the pump new or secondhand as the pump could be buggered?

 

As problem only occured after pump fitment this is the most likley cause.
RR might be a good idea.

Thanks Guys.The pump was brand new and the problem started immediatly after fitting it.i'm taking the car to a guy next thursday to check out all the electrics and if there is nothing obvious wrong it must be a faulty pump.
