Think you will find that 1995 year too early for OBD as it was not mandatory then, see how many wires go to OBD plug, if it is just three/four then it is still STAR DIAGNOSTIC, old style and these do not output FAST CODES so you will need a ford dealer or star equiptment.

It has the 'Enhanced 3 digit' output and DCL so you can use and error code reader that will work with those outputs. For some odd reason Ford started using the OBD style connector on the V6's before the ecu's were OBD-II compliant.

hi again

I find out that that 6 wires go to this plug.. but I think I still need FORD diagnostic or a handhelp codereader, because I have had some other answer ellswhere!! to bad...

Anyone who KNOW that a handheld codereader works..

The Central Diagnosis Connector (CDC as Ford call it) has the DCL lines on it, pin 3 is DCL+ and pin 11 is DCL-. To read error codes, live data etc from this you need a scan tool that is DCL compatible and I've not seen a cheap one anywhere.

To get the 3 digit codes this is what I've heard but have no proof of; Pin 48 on the ecu is the STI (self test input) and if you connect this to either pin 40 or 60 (both are grounds) it initiates the STO (self test output) on pin 17. To read the codes you connect the gnd lead of an LED to it and it flashes out the various errors. If this is correct then you could use a cheap 3 pin code reader on the ecu.
